Baptism @ Temple
Believer’s Baptism is the immersion (dunking) of a born again Christian into water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience, representing a believer’s new life in Jesus, who is the sin-bearing and resurrected Savior. Baptism is a believer’s public testimony of his or her faith in Jesus as Lord. The physical act of baptism is not necessary for salvation but is strongly associated with salvation as it best illustrates our new identity with Christ. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. We encourage all who have repented of their sin and trusted Jesus alone as Savior to obey Him through baptism.

Introducing: New Life
Paul wrote in Romans 1:16-17, that the Gospel “is the power of God unto salvation.” We at Temple believe in the power of the Gospel. We have been changed forever by the Gospel, and as we proclaim it, some will think it is foolish but others will embrace it as their everlasting hope (1 Cor. 1:18).
As a Baptist church, we have two ordinances that serve as visual demonstrations and reminders of the life-changing nature of the Gospel: Believers Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
We are devoting three Sunday mornings and three Sunday evenings per year to celebrating these two commands issued by our Lord. So these particular services will be built around testimonies of those being baptized, celebratory praise, a short Gospel-saturated message, and the partaking of the Lord’s Supper. We hope you will pray for these services. Bring your friends and family, especially those who need to hear the hope of the Gospel.
The 2009 dates are the following:
December 6 (evening-East Campus).
May Christ be exalted and may we treasure Him as the supreme object of our affections.
Together for the Gospel,
Pastor Tony
