How and when do kids register?
Each Love the Hub Club site will have its own online registration. Online registration for kids will open Thursday, June 18. Please register your children for the Love the Hub Club site closest to where you live. Love the Hub Clubs are for children that are entering kindergarten through children that have completed the 6th grade.
For questions about children that have completed 1st-6th grade, contact Kelli Brent, Children’s Director.
For questions about children that are entering kindergarten and entering 1st grade, contact Traci Roberts, Preschool Director.
What are Love the Hub Clubs, and what is the purpose?
Love the Hub Clubs will serve as Temple’s Vacation Bible School for this summer. The purpose of Vacation Bible School is evangelism. During Temple’s VBS last summer, we had 1000 kids and leaders on our campus each day. We want to reach our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ while understanding that in light of COVID19, families may not want to send their children where hundreds and hundreds of kids will be together. After prayerful consideration, we are excited about taking VBS outside of our church walls and into our communities. Love the Hub Clubs will have the same great elements of VBS but in smaller environments. This is a tremendous opportunity to love God, love people, and serve both. Will you join us?
Where will Love the Hub Clubs take place?
Love the Hub Clubs will take place all over the Hub...in front yards, in backyards, at community centers, at apartment complexes, and in neighborhood clubhouses and common areas. The number of children who may attend at each location will vary, but most yards will have a maximum number of 25 kids. We will limit community centers and clubhouses to around 50% capacity. The more Temple members that host clubs, the more children and families we can reach!
How can I serve?
We are glad you asked because we need your help!
Here are some ways you can serve:
- Host a club in my yard.
- Volunteer in my neighborhood.
- Volunteer at a community center.
- Student volunteer (completed 7th grade and older).
Each club will need a host, a Bible study leader, a music leader, a crafts leader, and a recreation leader along with helpers. These roles may be combined. Supplies and training will be provided. Completed 7th graders and older may serve as student leaders. Adult Bible Fellowship classes will adopt clubs by providing snacks and drinks each night. Customizable flyers will be provided to use as invitations for each club. You will receive more information soon about picking up materials and dates for training. .
What is our theme?
We are using Lifeway’s Concrete and Cranes VBS curriculum. Kids will discover that Jesus’ love provides a foundation that lasts. They will learn to be wise builders who firmly believe that He who began a good work in them will be faithful to carry it on to completion. We are all a work in progress. Life is a hard hat zone, but just wait until you see what God will do!
