Rain Doesn’t Dampen God’s Message
by Marcus Robinson
Seventeen Temple “missionaries” saw God do great things in Sidmouth, England once again. During the eight days in Sidmouth, Joey Pannella presented students in Sidmouth College (our high school equivalent) the facts about Jesus. Mitch Basey presented truths about Biblical reliability and Logan Lowrey made a presentation about Love, Sex and Relationships. Other team members made presentations as well, which was one aspect of our mission in Sidmouth. Door to door invitations and ministering to senior adults during the week was a focus of Roxanne Wallace and Kim Ryals.
During a mid-week “pizza and chill,” students from the schools where the presentations were made came to church for a mini concert with Codie and Josie Gibbons and the band. During this time, three girls trusted Christ.
The week was capped by an outdoor concert by Codie and Josie and the Band. Team members set up, interacted with the crowd, and prayed while the band played to a large crowd of young people, vacationers, and those strolling about in the beautiful Sidmouth weather. Rain was a continual factor, but during the concert we were spared. It was as if God circled around the concert area with sunshine to allow His word to go forth.
The Family Fun Day scheduled for Saturday was plagued by rain before and after, but during a brief two-hour window without rain, the people of Sidmouth came out, bringing their children and standing in line to jump on bouncy castles and for face painting while hearing the gospel and interacting with believers of the church.
NOW is the time to think about your involvement in this ministry next year. It will be bigger and better as we plan to return to minister and partner again with Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sidmouth, England.
