Roles and responsibilities

Position: Preschool Bible Fellowship Leader

Overview: The Preschool Bible Fellowship Leader is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for preschool-aged children during Sunday morning Bible Fellowship. This role involves implementing age-appropriate lessons and activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of each child, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a heart for children and a desire to see them grow in their understanding of God's love.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure you have a walkie-talkie and turn it on to channel 1. Turn off and place on charger before leaving. Look for a green light.
  • Match the security sticker on the child to the security sticker from the parent/guardian at pick-up. If parent/guardian does NOT have a sticker, use walkie-talkie and ask for Traci, Mary Lois, or Regan to come to your room. DO NOT allow anyone to take a child out of your room without a claim sticker.
  • Be aware of allergies. All allergies are printed on each child's security sticker.
  • ONLY females can change diapers and take children to potty. Always leave the bathroom door cracked while in the restroom with a child.
  • Count how many children are in your room. Count before leaving your room and upon returning.
  • Please use supplies in cabinet labeled Temple Baptist Church Preschool. Do NOT use supplies from Learning Depot cabinets. Keep room tidy for Learning Depot students and teachers that meet in rooms during the week. Leave it better than you found it!

Qualifications:

  • Love for preschool-aged children and a desire to nurture their spiritual growth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other preschool leaders and volunteers.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of basic safety and hygiene practices for young children.
  • Willingness to adhere to Temple Baptist Church's policies and procedures regarding child safety and security.

Position: Preschool Extended Care

Overview: Extended Care workers plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children attending the Temple Baptist Church Preschool program. Volunteers are expected to adhere to specific procedures related to childcare, security, allergies, and hygiene to create a safe and nurturing environment for the children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the walkie-talkie is turned on and set to channel 1 at the beginning of each shift. Turn off the walkie-talkie and place it on the charger before leaving. Verify that the walkie-talkie has a green light indicating it is properly charged.

  2. Match the security sticker on each child to the security sticker provided by the parent/guardian during pick-up. If a parent/guardian does not have a security sticker, use the walkie-talkie to request assistance from Traci, Mary Lois, or Regan. Do not allow anyone to take a child out of the room without a claim sticker.

  3. Be aware of any allergies each child may have. Allergies are printed on each child's security sticker. Take necessary precautions to prevent allergic reactions.

  4. Only females are permitted to change diapers and assist children in using the restroom. Always leave the bathroom door cracked while inside with a child to maintain visibility and safety.

  5. Count the number of children in the room before leaving and upon returning to ensure all children are accounted for.

  6. Use supplies from the cabinet labeled "Temple Baptist Church Preschool." Do not use supplies from the Learning Depot cabinets. Keep the room tidy for Learning Depot students and teachers who use the rooms during the week. Leave the room in better condition than you found it.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to childcare procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Time Commitment: Volunteers are expected to commit to a regular schedule, such as one morning or afternoon session per week, for a minimum of three months.

Position: Preschool Check-In

Job Description: The Preschool Check-In plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for families with young children attending our church. This role involves greeting first-time guests, members, and regular attenders, and ensuring that the check-in process is smooth and efficient. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and a passion for serving families with young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet families as they arrive at the preschool check-in desk, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Assist families with the check-in process, ensuring that children are checked in correctly and that parents receive their security stickers.
  • Answer any questions that families may have about the preschool ministry or other church programs.
  • Direct families to the appropriate classrooms or areas within the preschool ministry.
  • Maintain a clean and organized check-in area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and ready for use.
  • Work closely with other check-in attendants and preschool ministry leaders to ensure that all children are accounted for and that any special needs are addressed.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
