Position: Student Bible Fellowship Leader

Overview: The Student Ministry Bible Fellowship Leader is a dedicated volunteer responsible for teaching provided curriculum to students in a discussion-based format. This role involves collaborating with fellow teachers to establish a teaching rotation and coordinate class schedules. 

Responsibilities: 

Teaching: Facilitate engaging and discussion-based Bible Fellowship sessions for students, using curriculum provided by the church. 

Curriculum Preparation: Familiarize yourself with the provided curriculum and tailor discussions to meet the needs and interests of the students while staying within the framework of the material. 

Student Engagement: Create an inclusive and interactive classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, share insights, and deepen their understanding of the Bible. 

Spiritual Growth: Foster an atmosphere of spiritual growth, where students can explore their faith, develop their relationship with Christ, and apply biblical principles to their lives. 

Collaboration: Work closely with fellow teachers to establish a teaching rotation and coordinate schedules for teaching sessions. 

Communication: Maintain open communication with the Student Ministry leadership team to provide updates on class progress, student participation, and any issues that may arise. 

Qualifications: 

  • A genuine passion for teaching and a heart for young people's spiritual growth. 
  • A solid understanding of the Bible and Christian theology. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • An ability to facilitate meaningful discussions and engage students in biblical topics. 
  • Willingness to collaborate with other teachers and follow provided curriculum. 

Time Commitment: 

  • Sunday mornings at 10:30AM. 
  • Additional time for curriculum preparation, collaboration with fellow teachers, and communication with ministry leadership. 

Position: Student D Group Leader

Position Overview: The Student Ministry Discipleship Group Leader plays a crucial role in guiding and mentoring our 6th-12th graders as they embark on their journey of faith. This volunteer position involves leading same-gender discipleship groups that meet weekly to foster spiritual growth and encourage deeper connections with Christ and fellow group members. 

Responsibilities: 

Spiritual Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating a personal commitment to Christ and modeling a Christlike character. 

Group Facilitation: Lead a weekly same-gender discipleship group for students, creating an environment where open discussions, spiritual growth, and mutual support can thrive. 

Prayer: Foster a culture of prayer within the group, encouraging students to share their prayer requests and pray for one another. 

Accountability: Help students set and achieve spiritual goals, holding them accountable in love and grace. 

Relationship Building: Build strong, trusting relationships with group members, providing a safe space for them to share their thoughts and concerns. 

Communication: Keep parents and guardians informed about group activities and provide periodic updates on their child's spiritual progress. 

Flexibility: Be open to meeting at different times and locations based on the needs and preferences of the group members. 

Training and Development: Attend training sessions and meetings with the Student Ministry leadership team for ongoing spiritual and leadership development. 

Qualifications: 

  • A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. 
  • A commitment to the spiritual growth of young people. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • A heart for mentoring and discipleship. 
  • Willingness to undergo a background check (if required by the church). 

Time Commitment: 

  • Weekly meetings on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Temple Baptist church (or at a time and place agreed upon by the group). 
  • Additional time for preparation, communication, and occasional special events or retreats. 

 

Note: As a ministry team, we are prayerfully putting together discipleship groups to ensure that both leaders and students have the opportunity to grow in Christlikeness together. We believe that this commitment to spiritual growth is essential in fulfilling our mission.

Position: Student Ministry Substitute

Overview: The Student Ministry Substitute Leader plays a vital role in providing continuity and support in the absence of regular Student Ministry leaders. This role involves stepping in to lead or assist with Bible Fellowship classes, Check In, or other student ministry programs when regular leaders are unavailable. The ideal candidate will have a heart for students and a willingness to serve in a flexible and adaptable capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Be available to serve as a substitute leader on Sunday mornings or during other scheduled student ministry programs.
  • Lead or assist with classroom activities, including teaching lessons, leading games, and facilitating discussions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care, following established safety and security protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with regular Student Ministry leaders to understand and fulfill their expectations for the class or program.
  • Provide a positive and engaging environment for teenagers, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
  • Maintain a respectful and cooperative attitude when working with other volunteers and staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Love for teenagers and a desire to see them grow in their faith.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to different teaching styles and curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility and willingness to serve on short notice.
  • Understanding and adherence to the policies and procedures of the Student Ministry.
  • Completion of any required training or background checks.
