Roles & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position: Children's Bible Fellowship Teacher

Overview: As a Children's Bible Fellowship leader, you will play a fundamental role in creating a nurturing and enriching environment for our children. Your responsibilities will include facilitating age-appropriate activities, sharing biblical teachings, and fostering spiritual growth among the children in our care. 

Responsibilities: 

Teaching and Facilitation: Lead or assist in teaching the Bible, children's worship, or other age-appropriate programs, ensuring that lessons align with our church's values and beliefs. 

Safety and Supervision: Provide a safe and secure environment for children, ensuring they are well-supervised at all times during church activities. 

Curriculum Preparation: Familiarize yourself with provided curriculum materials and adapt them to suit the needs and interests of the children. 

Spiritual Nurturing: Encourage children to explore their faith, ask questions, and engage in age-appropriate discussions about the Bible, prayer, and Christian values. 

Relationship Building: Build positive and trusting relationships with children and their families, offering support and encouragement in their spiritual journeys. 

Qualifications: 

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and an understanding of basic Christian teachings. 
  • A genuine love for children and a passion for their spiritual growth. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children. 
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing demeanor. 
  • Willingness to complete any required background checks or training as necessary. 

Time Commitment: 

  • Regular attendance for Wednesday night programming.

Position: Children's Check-In

Overview: The Children's Check-In plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for families with young children attending our church. This role involves greeting first-time guests, members, and regular attenders, and ensuring that the check-in process is smooth and efficient. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and welcoming demeanor and a passion for serving families with young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet families as they arrive at the children's check-in desk, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Assist families with the check-in process, ensuring that children are checked in correctly and that parents receive their security stickers.
  • Answer any questions that families may have about the children's ministry or other church programs.
  • Direct families to the appropriate classrooms or areas within the preschool ministry.
  • Maintain a clean and organized check-in area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and ready for use.
  • Work closely with other check-in attendants and children's ministry leaders to ensure that all children are accounted for and that any special needs are addressed.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for children.

Position: Children's Ministry Substitute

Overview: The Children's Ministry Substitute Leader plays a vital role in providing continuity and support in the absence of regular Children's Ministry leaders. This role involves stepping in to lead or assist with Bible Fellowship classes, Check In, or other children's ministry programs when regular leaders are unavailable. The ideal candidate will have a heart for children and a willingness to serve in a flexible and adaptable capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • Be available to serve as a substitute leader on Sunday mornings or during other scheduled children's ministry programs.
  • Lead or assist with classroom activities, including teaching lessons, leading games, and facilitating discussions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, following established safety and security protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with regular Children's Ministry leaders to understand and fulfill their expectations for the class or program.
  • Provide a positive and engaging environment for children, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
  • Maintain a respectful and cooperative attitude when working with other volunteers and staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Love for children and a desire to see them grow in their faith.
  • Ability to follow directions and adapt to different teaching styles and curriculum.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility and willingness to serve on short notice.
  • Understanding and adherence to the policies and procedures of the Children's Ministry.
  • Completion of any required training or background checks.
