Position: Preteen Check-In
Overview: The Preteen Check-In plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and secure environment for families with young children attending our church. This role involves greeting first-time guests, members, and regular attenders, and ensuring that the check-in process is smooth and efficient. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and welcoming demeanor and a passion for serving families with young children.
Responsibilities:
- Greet families as they arrive at the check-in desk, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
- Assist families with the check-in process, ensuring that children are checked in correctly
- Answer any questions that families may have about the preteen ministry or other church programs.
- Direct families to the appropriate classrooms or areas within the preschool ministry.
- Maintain a clean and organized check-in area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and ready for use.
- Work closely with other check-in attendants and preteen ministry leaders to ensure that all children are accounted for and that any special needs are addressed.

Position: Volunteer Worship Member - Preteen Ministry
Overview: The Volunteer Worship Leader for the Preteen Ministry plays a key role in leading worship for preteens during Wednesday night gatherings. This role involves leading songs, engaging preteens in worship, and creating a dynamic and meaningful worship experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for worship, a heart for preteens, and the ability to lead and inspire others through music.
Responsibilities:
- Lead worship for preteens during Wednesday night gatherings.
- Select and arrange songs that are age-appropriate and relevant to preteens.
- Rehearse with any accompanying musicians or vocalists to ensure a cohesive and engaging worship experience.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where preteens feel comfortable expressing themselves through worship.
- Provide leadership and guidance to any volunteers assisting with worship, such as musicians or tech team members.
- Work closely with the Preteen Ministry leaders to align worship with the overall vision and goals of the ministry.
- Participate in regular planning meetings and training sessions to improve worship leadership skills and stay updated on ministry needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong musical ability, including proficiency in playing an instrument (guitar, keyboard, etc.) and leading vocals.
- Ability to engage and connect with preteens, creating a fun and energetic worship atmosphere.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the church and the Preteen Ministry.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well with others.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the ministry.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and any required training.

Ministry: Preteen (4th-5th graders)
Temple Baptist Church believes in equipping our 4th and 5th graders with the tools and knowledge they need to deepen their relationship with Christ. Our Preteen Ministry is a vital part of our church family, and we are dedicated to helping our students grow in Christlikeness.
Overview: The Preteen Small Group Leader plays a crucial role in guiding and mentoring our 4th-5th graders as they embark on their journey of faith. This volunteer position involves leading same-gender groups that meet weekly to foster spiritual growth and encourage deeper connections with Christ and fellow group members.
Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership: Lead by example, demonstrating a personal commitment to Christ and modeling a Christlike character.
Group Facilitation: Lead a weekly same-gender group for students, creating an environment where open discussions, spiritual growth, and mutual support can thrive.
Prayer: Foster a culture of prayer within the group, encouraging students to share their prayer requests and pray for one another.
Accountability: Help students set and achieve spiritual goals, holding them accountable in love and grace.
Relationship Building: Build strong, trusting relationships with group members, providing a safe space for them to share their thoughts and concerns.
Communication: Keep parents and guardians informed about group activities and provide periodic updates on their child's spiritual progress.
Training and Development: Attend training sessions and meetings with the Preteen Ministry leadership team for ongoing spiritual and leadership development.
Qualifications:
- A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A commitment to the spiritual growth of young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A heart for mentoring and discipleship.
- Willingness to undergo a background check (if required by the church).
Time Commitment:
- Weekly meetings on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Temple Baptist church (or at a time and place agreed upon by the group).
- Additional time for preparation, communication, and occasional special events or retreats.
