Roles & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position: Choir Member

Overview: The Choir Member plays a vital role in leading and enhancing the worship experience at our church through vocal music. This role involves attending regular rehearsals, learning and memorizing music, and participating in weekly services and special events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for worship, a strong singing voice, and a commitment to serving the church community through music.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly choir rehearsals to learn and practice music for upcoming services and events.
  • Participate in Sunday services and other scheduled events, leading congregational singing and performing choral pieces.
  • Collaborate with the worship team, musicians, and music director to create a cohesive and dynamic worship environment.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while serving in the choir, demonstrating a heart of worship and a spirit of unity.
  • Commit to ongoing vocal training and development to improve singing skills and technique.
  • Assist in recruiting and welcoming new choir members, encouraging them to use their gifts in worship.

Qualifications:

  • Strong singing voice and ability to sing in harmony with others.
  • Ability to learn and memorize music quickly and accurately.
  • Commitment to attending rehearsals and services regularly.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow direction from worship staff.

Position: Orchestra Member

Overview: The Orchestra Member plays a vital role in enhancing the worship experience at our church through the gift of music. This role involves rehearsing and performing instrumental music during Sunday services and other special events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for worship and a high level of proficiency on their instrument.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly rehearsals to prepare for upcoming services and events.
  • Arrive early on Sundays and other scheduled times to set up and tune instruments.
  • Participate in the worship service by playing music that enhances the overall worship experience.
  • Collaborate with other musicians, vocalists, and worship leaders to create a cohesive and dynamic worship environment.
  • Continuously strive to improve musical skills and techniques through practice and ongoing education.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while serving in the orchestra, demonstrating a heart of worship and a spirit of unity.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency on a musical instrument (e.g., violin, viola, cello, flute, trumpet, trombone, etc.).
  • Ability to read sheet music and play in a variety of styles and genres.
  • Commitment to attending rehearsals and services regularly.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow direction from the music director or worship leader.
  • Willingness to contribute time and talent to enhance the worship experience for the congregation.
