Roles & RESPONSIBILITIES

Position: Audio Tech

Overview: At Temple Baptist Church, we believe in creating memorable and meaningful worship experiences through audio-visual production. We are looking for dedicated individuals passionate about audio production to join our volunteer team. Volunteers play a crucial role in our production ministry by operating audio equipment to enhance the quality of our services and events. 

Responsibilities: 

Audio Setup: 

  • Assist in the setup and teardown of audio equipment before and after services and events. 
  • Ensure that microphones, speakers, and other audio devices are properly connected and functioning. 

Live Sound Mixing: 

  • Operate the soundboard during worship services, events, and other church activities. 
  • Adjust audio levels, EQ settings, and effects to achieve optimal sound quality. 
  • Monitor audio levels and make real-time adjustments as needed. 

Audio Recording: 

  • Record sermons, worship performances, and other church events for archival and distribution purposes. 
  • Ensure that audio recordings are of high quality and properly labeled. 

Technical Support: 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio equipment issues as they arise. 
  • Provide technical support to the worship team and other volunteers. 

Training: 

  • Attend training sessions provided by the church to enhance audio production skills. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in audio production. 

Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with the production team, including camera operators and lighting technicians, to ensure a seamless worship experience. 
  • Coordinate cues for lighting and audio with the production team. 

Qualifications: 

  • A passion for audio production and a desire to contribute to worship services. 
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in operating audio equipment. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Availability to serve during worship services and special events.

Position: Sunday Morning Camera Operator

Overview: The Sunday Morning Camera Operator is a vital member of the Production Ministry, responsible for operating cameras during Sunday morning services and other church events. This role helps capture and broadcast live video to enhance the worship experience for attendees both in-person and online. The camera operator will work closely with the Production Team Lead to ensure that camera shots align with the overall service flow and message.

Responsibilities:

  1. Attend all scheduled Sunday morning services and any required rehearsals or meetings.
  2. Operate cameras to capture live video of worship, sermons, and other service elements according to the service plan.
  3. Work closely with the Production Team Lead and other production team members to coordinate camera shots and angles.
  4. Assist in the setup and teardown of camera equipment before and after services or events.
  5. Monitor and adjust camera settings as needed to ensure high-quality video production.
  6. Collaborate with other production team members to create and implement creative camera shots for special services or events.
  7. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while operating cameras during services.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience with camera operation preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
  2. Willingness to learn and be trained on camera equipment and techniques.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing service requirements.
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Ability to stand and operate cameras for extended periods.

Time Commitment:

  • Sunday mornings, including setup and teardown time, as well as any required rehearsals or meetings.
  • Additional time commitment may be required for special services or events.

Training and Support:

  • Training will be provided by the Production Team Lead or designated trainer.
  • Ongoing support and feedback will be provided to help the camera operator grow in their role.

Position: Sunday Morning Lighting

Overview: The Sunday Morning Lighting Volunteer is a crucial member of the Production Ministry, responsible for operating lighting equipment during Sunday morning services and other church events. This role helps create a worshipful atmosphere by enhancing the visual experience for attendees. The volunteer will work closely with the Production Team Lead to ensure that lighting cues and effects align with the overall service flow.

Responsibilities:

  1. Attend all scheduled Sunday morning services and any required rehearsals or meetings.
  2. Operate lighting console and equipment to execute lighting cues and effects according to the service plan.
  3. Work closely with the Production Team Lead and other production team members to ensure seamless transitions between service elements.
  4. Assist in the setup and teardown of lighting equipment before and after services or events.
  5. Monitor and maintain lighting equipment, reporting any issues to the Production Team Lead.
  6. Collaborate with other production team members to create and implement creative lighting designs for special services or events.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience with lighting equipment and basic lighting principles preferred, but not required.
  2. Willingness to learn and be trained on lighting equipment and techniques.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing service requirements.
  4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed.
