New Orleans Mission Lab

Mission Trip for Temple Junior High Students

June 4-9, 2017

Through the MissionLab, a ministry of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminiary, short-term missions teams have been loving and serving the city of New Orleans in the name of Jesus since 2000. The goal of the MissionLab is to train Christ Followers to learn how to live as everyday missionaries. New Orleans is the perfect training ground.

Temple Junior High Students (7th /8th graders) will participate in this mission opportunity June 4-9, 2017.

The team will stay at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. NOBTS provides housing, meals, and leadership for the Temple team who desires to demonstrate God’s love to the people of New Orleans.

Ben Beasley, Temple Junior High Student Pastor, is the trip leader. Some of the ministries that will take place during the week include Recreation/ Sports camp at the All Star Day Camp, Food Bank/ Community Center and cleanup of light construction area.

LOVE IN ACTION FOOD PANTRY

The Temple team will also be working with Love In Action, an agency of Second Harvesters Food Bank of Greater New Orleans that distributes pantry items, meat and produce to individuals and families, with a target population of the elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged. The Temple team will assist Love In Action by unloading food items, shelving them, organizing them, and assisting patrons who come to select food. Some students will also be asked to help the Love In Action Food Pantry staff around their offices with organizing and arranging items in their thrift store. Please, be sure to wear closed-toe-shoes.

Cost for the trip is $xxx.xx. Sign-up is available on line or through the student ministry.
